  6. Lower salary and benefits. Supply and demand dictates some salary levels and benefits. With the overabundance of job seekers in the market today, companies can offer fewer benefits and lower salaries to save themselves money, and there are a lot of candidates that will accept those terms.
  7. Out-of-state challenge. Employers will consider local candidates first – that’s fact. If an employer decides to interview an out-of-town candidate they may not cover travel expenses or will conduct the interview by Skype instead of in-person.
